    • The center was established on October 27, 2020 

     Vision & Mission 

    • To be a scientific beacon for learning, training and development in relation to all pharmaceutical industries and practices. 
    • The center provides personnel in the pharmaceutical sector with the best training services through specialized experts to meet their training needs at competitive prices in cooperation with local and international bodies.

    👥 Key Beneficiary Groups of the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Training Programs 

    • Internal Training: Targets employees of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) to strengthen their professional and scientific competencies across various fields of work. 
    • External Training: Offers training programs to all stakeholders, including pharmacists, healthcare providers, regulatory bodies; industry representatives, professionals working in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, and researchers—aimed at enhancing their skills in professional, scientific, and applied fields. 
    • Regional and International Training: Provides training programs to stakeholders from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), with a special focus on countries in the Middle East, Mediterranean, and African regions. These programs support efforts to improve access to vaccines and other biological products, and help build local bio-manufacturing industries in those areas.

        • The Center for Continuing Professional Development serves as a Regional Training beacon under the African Union Development Agency – New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD), recognized as a Regional Organizational Center of Excellence in Africa.  
        • Training programs tailored for employees of the Egyptian Drug Authority. 
        • Training programs available to non-Egyptian Drug Authority personnel, including pharmaceutical company representatives and healthcare providers (HCPs). 
        • International training programs delivered to trainees from regulatory authorities.

        • The unit aims to establish an integrated system for implementing training programs designed to build and enhance the capabilities of international organization members. These programs focus on improving their professional, scientific, and practical competencies to support better access to safe, effective, high-quality, and affordable medicines and health technologies. 

         

        • The unit is also responsible for executing external training programs for international organizations to boost their efficiency by upgrading the skills of their members across professional, scientific, and applied levels. These programs are built on advanced training methodologies provided by the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Division.

        • This unit is dedicated to establishing a comprehensive system for implementing training programs that support the development and enhancement of external parties affiliated with the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA). Its mission is to advance these participants’ professional, scientific, and applied skills. 
        • The unit offers specialized training programs designed to build professional competencies across various fields, aligning with the latest global standards and local requirements. All members of the general departments within the central directorates actively participate in delivering these programs. The goal is to achieve the Authority’s vision of strengthening the professional capacities and skills of external entities, contributing to sustainable development, continuous improvement in scientific and professional performance, and ensuring they stay updated on the latest developments and decisions issued by central directorates.

          📌 AUDA-NEPAD Recognition The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), via the Continuing Professional Development Center, was designated by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) as a Regional Center of Regulatory Excellence (RCORE).
