The forum featured an active contribution from Dr. Myriam Boulos, Head of the Central Administration for Medical Devices at the Egyptian Drug Authority, who delivered a presentation titled “International Cooperation in the Medical Devices Market: Modern Challenges.” Her presentation addressed the national procedures for the registration and circulation of medical devices in Egypt, as well as the advantages offered by the Authority to foreign manufacturers seeking entry into the Egyptian market.
The presentation also highlighted the EDA’s strategies for achieving global harmonization and accelerating the availability of safe and effective medical devices in the Egyptian market. It covered national registration procedures, facilitation measures for foreign manufacturers, the Authority’s efforts in digital transformation of the registration system, fast-track pathways for product market entry, and key current challenges and strategic opportunities to strengthen international integration in this field.
The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to continuously developing the regulatory framework for the circulation of medical devices in Egypt in a safe, innovative, and globally aligned manner. It emphasized its dedication to fostering mutual trust and ensuring rapid access to high-quality medical devices through constructive dialogue and active partnerships with international regulatory bodies.
