Egyptian Drug Authority Participates in the German University in Cairo Graduation Ceremony and Affirms the Importance of Partnership to Support the Future of the Pharmaceutical Industry

Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), participated in the graduation ceremony of the 2025 class at the German University in Cairo (GUC), held yesterday in the presence of a number of prominent Egyptian and German figures.
The event was attended by H.E. Ambassador Frank Jürgen Schulz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Egypt; Dr. Muriel Kim Helbich, President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD); Prof. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GUC; and Prof. Yasser Hegazy, President of the German University in Cairo.
During the ceremony, Dr. El-Ghamrawy delivered a speech titled “A Partnership to Build the Future: Celebrating the Outcomes of Egyptian-German Cooperation.” He emphasized that the German University in Cairo represents a distinguished model of cooperation between Egypt and Germany, and stands as a scientific beacon combining German research precision with Egyptian creativity, contributing to the graduation of highly qualified cadres capable of supporting the country’s development path.
The EDA chairman extended his congratulations to the graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biotechnology, noting that they represent the future of Egypt’s pharmaceutical industry. He stressed that the Authority is committed to supporting young scientific talents to strengthen the innovation, research, and development ecosystem, and to achieve self-sufficiency in pharmaceuticals.
Dr. El-Ghamrawy concluded by affirming the importance of continuing collaboration between the Egyptian Drug Authority and the German University, and of building academic and industrial partnerships that enhance the regional and international leadership of Egyptian pharmaceuticals.
The Egyptian Drug Authority highlighted that its participation in the event reflects its deep belief in the pivotal role of education and academic partnership in advancing Egypt’s pharmaceutical industry. The Authority highlighted that supporting young talents and expanding research cooperation with universities and international institutions constitute key pillars of its strategy to build a strong, globally competitive national pharmaceutical system.
