Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, met with Dr. Ehab Heikal, President of the Egyptian Dental Syndicate, at the EDA headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. This comes within the framework of enhancing cooperation and integration between the Authority and professional bodies and key partners in the healthcare sector.
The discussion focused on mechanisms to support and develop the dental pharmaceutical products and supplies system in the Egyptian market, and to ensure their continuous availability with high quality and efficiency. This is alongside boosting joint cooperation with this vital sector across registration, inspection, and distribution levels.
The two parties also discussed means of cooperation with local manufacturers and importers to regularly meet market needs, ensuring the stability of the pharmaceutical market and safeguarding patient safety.
Dr. Al-Ghamrawy stressed the Authority’s commitment to providing all forms of technical and regulatory support to ensure the quality and safety of dental supplies in accordance with international standards. He emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous communication with the Dental Syndicate and other professional bodies to exchange expertise and insights aimed at improving and developing healthcare services offered to citizens.
For his part, Dr. Ehab Heikal, President of the Egyptian Dental Syndicate, expressed his appreciation for the role of the Egyptian Drug Authority in supporting the dental pharmaceutical products and supplies market, stressing the Syndicate’s commitment to ongoing cooperation with the EDA in all matters related to the organization and development of this critical field.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Wadian Younis, Head of the Central Administration for Drug Control; Dr. Amira Mahjoub, Head of the Central Administration for Pharmaceutical Establishments Inspection; and Dr. Hossam Abdallah, Associate to the Chairman for Market Support and Monitoring & General Manager of General Administration of Market Access and Business Continuity.
