The Egyptian Drug Authority Witnesses the Signing of a Strategic Partnership to Localize the Medical Devices Industry Between the Egyptian Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals and Dawah Pharma (USA)
Al-Ghamrawy: Strengthening the national medical industry is a key step toward achieving Egypt’s health security.

Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, witnessed the official signing ceremony of a strategic partnership agreement between Dawah International, an Egyptian company in which the Egyptian Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals is a shareholder, and Dawah Pharma LLC (USA), alongside the Qatar German Medical Devices Company (QG Medical Devices).
The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Public Business Sector headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Eng. Mohamed El-Shimy, Minister of Public Business Sector, and Dr. Hisham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply, and the Management of Medical Technology (UPA), along with the chairmen of the three companies involved.
This partnership aligns with Egypt’s national strategy to enhance cooperation between Arab and international expertise in the fields of industrial investment, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and the medical devices industry, aiming to establish an integrated production and supply system within and beyond Egypt, while supporting scientific and medical advancement across the Arab region.
Dr. Al-Ghamrawy emphasized that the Authority is a strategic partner and key enabler in implementing the state’s vision, highlighting that this partnership reflects the government’s commitment to supporting local manufacturing and localizing the medical devices industry, pointing out that the EDA provides an attractive and investment-friendly regulatory environment for the pharmaceutical sector, noting that localizing the medical devices industry is one of the key pillars in strengthening Egypt’s pharmaceutical and healthcare security. He reaffirmed that the Authority continues to work in integration with state institutions to build a strong national industry capable of meeting local market needs and competing regionally and globally.
For his part, Eng. Mohamed El-Shimy stated that this agreement represents a significant milestone toward localizing advanced medical technology in Egypt, noting that the government aims to position Egypt as a regional hub for the manufacture of pharmaceutical products and medical devices targeting African and Arab markets. The Minister added that the agreement aligns with Egypt Vision 2030, which focuses on enhancing industrial investment, promoting advanced manufacturing, and strengthening national and regional healthcare security, thus improving the competitiveness of Egyptian and Arab products in global markets.
Dr. Hisham Stait stated that the agreement is a step toward establishing a unified Arab framework for medical supply and pharmaceutical manufacturing, emphasizing that the cooperation between the three parties will ensure the availability of pharmaceutical products and medical devices at competitive prices and international quality standards, thereby supporting regional healthcare security.
For his part, Dr. Hossam Abdel Maksoud, Chairman and CEO of Dawah Pharma LLC, stated:
“We are not just signing a commercial agreement — we are establishing a genuine Arab–international alliance in the healthcare sector. This partnership reflects our deep belief in the Arab region’s potential to lead global industrial and medical transformation. It paves the way for joint manufacturing projects and knowledge exchange that will position our region at the forefront of innovation.”
Mr. Fahd Abdullah Malek, Vice Chairman of QG Medical Devices, added:
“This partnership opens new horizons for cooperation between Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in advanced healthcare fields. We believe that the integration among the three partners will bring about a qualitative leap in the Arab pharmaceutical industry, enabling our products to compete effectively in global markets.
