EgyptianDrugAuthority: Conclusion of the "Qata’if Dawaa’iya 2026" Campaign to Promote Safe Medication Use During Ramadan
The Egyptian Drug Authority announced the conclusion of its medication awareness campaign during the holy month of Ramadan under the title "Qata’if Dawaa’iya 2026," which took place in several cultural centers across various governorates of the country, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance public health awareness.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the rational and safe use of medications, with a focus on those most commonly used by the public, particularly painkillers and medications for chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, due to the importance of adhering to correct dosages during fasting periods. This contributes to enhancing treatment effectiveness and maintaining patients’ health throughout Ramadan.
The campaign’s activities were carried out alongside cultural events held after Iftar at several cultural centers, including Rawd Al-Farag Cultural Palace, Heliopolis Cultural Palace, and Helwan Cultural Palace, in cooperation with the General Authority for Cultural Palaces. This reflects the integration of efforts among state institutions to spread health awareness within the community.
This initiative comes within the vital role played by the Egyptian Drug Authority in promoting the safe and effective use of medications and reducing incorrect practices, thereby improving treatment outcomes and enhancing patients’ quality of life. The campaign also falls within national efforts to adopt an integrated approach to health awareness, supporting the Authority’s vision to develop the pharmaceutical system and achieve sustainability in pharmaceutical services in line with the latest global standards.
The Authority confirmed its continued implementation of medication awareness programs across various channels, contributing to instilling a health-conscious culture among citizens and promoting the optimal use of medications.
