EDA Chairman Discusses Strengthening Cooperation and Localizing Advanced Pharmaceutical Industries with Servier Egypt
Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, held a meeting with representatives of Servier Egypt, headed by Dr. Sami Senqart, the company’s General Manager, to explore ways to enhance mutual cooperation and localize advanced pharmaceutical industries in the Egyptian market.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy welcomed the company’s delegation, affirming the Egyptian Drug Authority’s commitment to strengthening effective partnerships with major global pharmaceutical companies operating in the sector. He emphasized that such cooperation contributes to supporting the pharmaceutical system in Egypt and ensuring the availability of modern medicines for Egyptian patients.
Dr. El-Ghamrawy also stressed the Authority’s continuous support for both national and international industry partners, highlighting the importance of accelerating the registration procedures for new and innovative pharmaceutical products. This, in turn, would enhance access to modern therapies and more effectively meet patients’ needs.
The meeting also covered a number of key topics related to ensuring the availability of priority pharmaceutical products for Egyptian patients, in addition to reviewing the company’s future plans in the Egyptian market, particularly with regard to supporting local manufacturing, increasing investments, and expanding production capacity.
For his part, Dr. Sami Senqart, General Manager of Servier Egypt, expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Egyptian Drug Authority in supporting and developing the pharmaceutical sector in Egypt. He affirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Authority in the coming phase in a manner that supports the availability of innovative pharmaceutical products and expands opportunities for investment and pharmaceutical manufacturing in the Egyptian market.
This comes within the framework of the strategic direction of the Egyptian state and the Egyptian Drug Authority toward strengthening national pharmaceutical security and localizing advanced pharmaceutical industries, thereby supporting the fulfillment of patients’ needs and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution.
