EDA Explores Cooperation Mechanisms with Japan’s Earth Corporation to Enhance Investment and Local Manufacturing
On behalf of Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Dr. Tamer El-Husseiny, Vice Chairman of the EDA, held a meeting with representatives of Earth Corporation, headed by Mr. Mikihiko Atarashi, General Manager of the Research and Development Department, to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment in the Egyptian market.
During the meeting, the company delivered an overview of its diverse activities in the fields of skincare products, pharmaceuticals, and insecticides manufacturing. Discussions also addressed the company’s interest in entering the Egyptian market and reviewed available investment opportunities that support local industry and enhance the availability of high-quality products in line with international standards.
The meeting further reviewed the OEM manufacturing model in Egypt, including the role of the brand owner in developing product designs and technical specifications and safeguarding intellectual property rights, as well as the role of local manufacturers in production, branding, and market placement. Marketing strategies and direct sales mechanisms in the local market were also discussed.
Dr. El-Husseiny emphasized the Authority’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with leading global companies, noting the importance of such engagements in transferring advanced technologies, localizing pharmaceutical and health-related industries, opening new investment prospects, and providing innovative products that meet the needs of the Egyptian market—while reinforcing Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub in this vital sector.
For its part, Earth Corporation expressed its appreciation for the pioneering role played by the Egyptian Drug Authority in supporting and advancing the pharmaceutical and health products sector.
