Egyptian Drug Authority Participates in the Ninth Session of the Egypt–Algeria High Joint Committee
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) participated in the ninth session of the Egypt–Algeria High Joint Committee, attended by Dr. Cherif Dlih, Director General of the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products in Algeria, along with senior officials and experts from both countries.
During the meeting, Dr. Osama Hatem, Assistant to the EDA chairman for Policies and International Cooperation and Supervisor of the Central Administration for Pharmaceutical Policies and Market Support, presented the Authority’s efforts in developing the pharmaceutical system and enhancing the exchange of technical and regulatory expertise. He affirmed the EDA’s commitment to providing ongoing support for developing pharmaceutical policies and markets in a way that serves the shared interests of both countries.
He noted that the Authority’s participation represents an opportunity to strengthen technical cooperation between Egypt and Algeria, and to establish continuous channels for coordination and exchange of expertise across various pharmaceutical fields, contributing to a more efficient and sustainable pharmaceutical environment.
The Egyptian Drug Authority reaffirmed its commitment to supporting joint cooperation pathways, valuing the positive outcomes of the meetings which open new horizons for pharmaceutical collaboration and reinforce Egypt’s leading regional role.
For his part, Dr. Cherif Dlih praised Egypt’s efforts in enhancing technical and regulatory cooperation, expressing Algeria’s commitment to continuing support for pharmaceutical integration and strengthening expertise exchange to ensure the safety and well-being of patients in both countries. He added that this cooperation reflects a shared vision for elevating the pharmaceutical sector and underscores Algeria’s dedication to deepening regional partnerships to ensure best practices and expertise.
This participation comes within the EDA’s keenness to strengthen its regional presence and expand cooperation with counterpart institutions, ensuring effective partnerships that contribute to developing the pharmaceutical system and supporting both countries’ efforts to achieve sustainable drug security and advanced regulatory practices.
