In line with the Egyptian Drug Authority's (EDA) commitment to enhancing pharmaceutical regulation and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders, the EDA held a meeting today, chaired by Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the EDA, to discuss updating policies related to certain procedures for registering human pharmaceutical products and joint coordination with the Pharmaceuticals Division of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC).
The discussions covered various important topics, including updates to registration mechanisms that ensure the continuous flow of pharmaceutical products into the market. Additionally, the meeting explored strategies to enhance local market access and boost pharmaceutical production while maintaining compliance with regulatory and technical standards.
Participants exchanged views on strengthening cooperation to balance sustainable development goals with ensuring high-quality, efficient access to medicines for citizens. They also emphasized the need to adopt flexible, advanced mechanisms aligned with the latest international standards to enhance transparency in the pharmaceutical market and ensure supply chain stability.
All relevant parties reaffirmed the importance of continuous coordination and communication to keep pace with global developments and achieve integration between pharmaceutical and regulatory policies, maximizing benefits for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ali Auf, Head of the Pharmaceuticals Division of Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), Dr. Mohamed El-Naggar, Member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Committee of Toll Manufacturers in the Pharmaceuticals Division of the Federation of FEDCOC, Dr. Haitham Dweidar, Member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Industry Committee in the Pharmaceuticals Division of FEDCOC, Eng. Yasser Waked, Member of the Board of Directors and Head of the Veterinary Drugs Committee in the Pharmaceuticals Division of FEDCOC. From the EDA, Prof. Dr. Hanan Amin, Head of the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Products, Dr. Amany Gawdat, Associate to the EDA Chairman and Supervisor of the Central Administration of the Chairman's Office, Dr. Osama Hatem, Associate to the EDA Chairman for Policy and International Cooperation and Supervisor of the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Policies and Market Access, Dr. Hamada Gamal, Associate to the Chairman for Updating and Developing Systems for Registration Medical Products and General Manager of Human Pharmaceuticals Registration in the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Products.
This meeting aligns with the EDA’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with relevant stakeholders, ensuring a balance between sustainable pharmaceutical availability and continuous improvements in registration processes.
