The Egyptian Drug Authority Discusses Mechanisms for Developing and Regulating the Compounding Pharmacy Sector with “Global Fusion”
Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), held a meeting with a delegation from Global Fusion headed by Dr. Raed Al-Deihani, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, to discuss ways to develop and regulate the compounding pharmacy sector in Egypt, in a manner that enhances the quality of pharmaceutical services in line with international standards.
Both sides reviewed the latest global practices governing compounding pharmacy units, including regulatory policies, licensing requirements, and oversight mechanisms that ensure the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical preparations produced within these units.
During the meeting, Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy affirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting and developing various areas of the pharmaceutical industry. He noted that compounding pharmacy is one of the key domains to which the Authority gives special attention due to its vital role in improving the quality of pharmaceutical services and meeting patients’ precise therapeutic needs.
He highlighted that the Authority operates according to a scientific approach and a clear legislative framework that ensures the safety and effectiveness of pharmaceutical products. He emphasized that strengthening partnerships with specialized international entities opens broad prospects for enhancing pharmaceutical service efficiency and improving compounding practices within pharmacy establishments. He also stressed that any collaboration with global companies will be carried out in full compliance with Egyptian laws, contributing to strengthening the capabilities of the pharmaceutical sector and raising the efficiency of pharmacy institutions across the country.
The Global Fusion delegation presented the company’s international expertise and achievements in this field, along with successful global models that provided the Authority with insights into leading experiences and internationally recognized best practices.
