The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Discusses Cooperation Mechanisms with ""Shefaa Al Orman"" in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Dr. Ali Al-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority, held a meeting with a delegation from Shefaa Al Orman Hospital in Luxor Governorate, headed by Prof. Dr. Hany Hussein, the CEO of Shefaa Al Orman Hospitals, to discuss avenues for joint cooperation across a number of pharmaceutical and training files.
The meeting addressed cooperation mechanisms in the fields of oncology pharmacy and nuclear medicine.
During the meeting, The EDA Chairman affirmed the Authority's commitment to supporting the local manufacturing of radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and strict control, ensuring the availability of safe and effective pharmaceutical products for patients, and contributing to enhancing national capabilities in this vital field.
He added that the Authority pays special attention to supporting partnerships with leading health institutions, which enhances the efficiency of the national pharmaceutical system and serves the state's direction towards localizing advanced pharmaceutical industries.
He pointed out that radiopharmaceuticals are among the vital areas that directly contribute to supporting the oncology treatment system, stressing the Authority's commitment to providing the necessary technical and regulatory support to encourage local manufacturing and facilitate registration and licensing procedures in accordance with international standards.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Hany Hussein, CEO of Shefaa Al Orman Hospitals, expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role played by the Egyptian Drug Authority in maintaining the quality of pharmaceutical products and ensuring patient safety, emphasizing his keenness to expand areas of cooperation with the Authority to serve cancer patients and support the healthcare system in Egypt.
The meeting was attended on the Authority's side by:
· Dr. Amany Gawdat, Associate to the EDA Chairman and Supervisor of the Central Administration of the Chairman Office.
· Dr. Amira Mahjoub, Head of the Central Administration for Inspection of Pharmaceutical Establishments.
· Dr. Mohab Fady, Head of the Central Administration for Licensing of Pharmaceutical Establishments.
· Dr. Hamada Gamal, Associate to the Chairman for Updating and Developing Registration Systems for pharmaceutical Products and General Manager of General Administration for Human Pharmaceutical Registration
From Shefaa Al Orman Hospital, the meeting was attended by Dr. Sherif Maghraby, Head of the Medical Physics Department and Radiation Protection Expert.
The meeting comes within the framework of the strategic direction of the Egyptian Drug Authority toward enhancing cooperation with leading health institutions, driving the wheel of local manufacturing of specialized pharmaceutical products, and building pharmaceutical cadres capable of keeping pace with global developments in this field.
