The Egyptian Drug Authority announced its virtual participation in the meeting of the Global Network of Regulatory Agencies to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance (RAGNA). This participation reflects the Authority’s commitment to actively contributing to international initiatives addressing public health challenges.

During the meeting, the efforts of the Egyptian Drug Authority in combating antimicrobial resistance at the national level were reviewed, alongside measures taken to reduce the spread of pathogen resistance. The Authority emphasized its keenness to cooperate with international organizations and exchange expertise with global experts. The meeting also aimed to strengthen international collaboration and experience-sharing to tackle one of the most serious global health challenges.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abeer El-Bahiri, Director General of the General Administration of Pharmaceutical Practices and Medicines, and Dr. Shaimaa Nasr El-Din, Director of the Rational Drug Use Unit.

This aligns with the Egyptian Drug Authority’s vision and its leading role in improving pharmaceutical services nationwide, enhancing the optimal and rational use of medicines according to global standards, thereby achieving the highest levels of pharmaceutical care and ensuring patient safety and sustainability of development, in line with Egypt Vision 2030
