"To Discuss Opportunities for Vaccine Localization and Export Promotion Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority Receives Delegation from VACSERA Holding Company for Vaccines
Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), received a delegation from the VACSERA Holding Company for Vaccines, headed by Dr. Sherif El-Feel, Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. The meeting addressed a number of technical and regulatory topics related to products submitted by the company.
The discussions highlighted opportunities for joint cooperation and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to providing the necessary technical support to ensure the products meet both local and international standards. This support aims to boost vaccine manufacturing localization efforts and open up new export markets.
The meeting also addressed challenges that the company has faced in recent periods, exploring proposed mechanisms to overcome them in alignment with regulatory standards, while ensuring product safety and efficacy.
In his remarks, Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy emphasized that the Egyptian Drug Authority remains committed to supporting serious pharmaceutical companies and providing a conducive regulatory environment that contributes to enhancing the quality of pharmaceutical manufacturing in Egypt, while upholding the highest standards of safety, efficacy, and transparency.
The Chairman also stressed the Authority’s ongoing efforts to localize pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a focus on developing the local market and ensuring access to high-quality, effective, and affordable medicines for Egyptian patients.
He highlighted the importance of cooperation with local pharmaceutical companies to deepen localization efforts and noted that the Egyptian government continues to streamline procedures for registering innovative medicines and to implement practical solutions to challenges faced by companies aiming to manufacture medicines locally.
Participants in the meeting included Dr. Asmaa Fouad, Head of the Central Administration for Biological, Innovative Products and Clinical Trials, and Dr. Amira Mahgoub, Head of the Central Administration for Operations, from the EDA. From VACSERA, the attendees were Dr. Irene Fouad, CEO of the company; Dr. Heba Ali, Head of Operations Sector; and Dr. Hanaa Omar, Director of the Chairman’s Technical Office.
This meeting reflects the Egyptian Drug Authority’s commitment to supporting national industry, developing the biological vaccines sector, localizing the latest vaccines, and opening new export markets.
