Egyptian Pharmacopoeia Drafting Committee Holds Its Thirteenth Meeting
The Egyptian Pharmacopoeia Drafting Committee convened its thirteenth meeting at the headquarters of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) in Agouza to review the latest developments concerning the preparation of the fifth edition of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs; Dr. Ayman El-Khatib, Vice President of the Egyptian Drug Authority and Chairman of the Permanent Committee; Counselor Dr. Mohamed El-Demerdash Zaki, Vice President of the State Council and Legal Advisor to the Egyptian Drug Authority; in addition to other committee members,
including professors from Egyptian universities, experts representing various governmental entities and institutions, and specialists responsible for the Pharmacopoeia content within the Egyptian Drug Authority.
During the meeting, participants reviewed progress indicators related to the development of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia content and assessed the implementation roadmap in accordance with the approved regulatory framework. Discussions also addressed the latest developments concerning the procedures required for the issuance of the fifth edition of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia.
These efforts are aligned with the Egyptian state's ongoing commitment to keeping pace with international developments in the pharmaceutical sector and to harmonizing national pharmaceutical standards with globally recognized regulatory and scientific frameworks.
The development of the Egyptian Pharmacopoeia reflects the Egyptian Drug Authority’s strategic vision to establish a comprehensive national pharmaceutical reference that supports the quality, safety, and efficacy of medicinal products, while strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional center for pharmaceutical regulation and manufacturing.
