Egyptian Drug Authority: Operations continue at customs ports during Eid al-Fitr to speed up the release of medicines, pharmaceutical raw materials and meet citizens’ needs
The Egyptian Drug Authority confirms the continuation of work at all customs ports and harbors during the blessed Eid al-Fitr holiday, to ensure the ongoing release of shipments of medicines, pharmaceutical raw materials, and medical supplies, and their availability in the Egyptian market without any delay, with full adherence to technical standards and regulatory controls to ensure quality and safety.
These measures come in line with the regular operation at all ports on Thursday, March 19, noting that the Eid holiday will be limited to only the first two days, with work resuming starting from the third day of Eid, in continuous coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of the customs clearance process.
The team of pharmacists affiliated with the Egyptian Drug Authority continues to work inside the customs ports to facilitate and accelerate release procedures, ensuring the availability of pharmaceutical products and essential materials in the Egyptian market, and guaranteeing the continuity of pharmaceutical supply chains without any disruption.
This comes within the framework of the Egyptian Drug Authority’s commitment to strengthening national drug security and ensuring the continuity of supply chains for medicines, pharmaceutical raw materials, and medical supplies, in a way that supports meeting patients’ needs in the local market without interruption, reflecting the Authority’s dedication to its role in protecting citizens’ health and maintaining the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products.
