Egyptian Drug Authority Discusses with “NAPCO Pharma” Enhancing Investments and Developing the Pharmaceutical Industry
Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), held a meeting with a delegation from “NAPCO Pharma” as part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with national companies and support the development of the pharmaceutical sector, contributing to the advancement of vital industries in Egypt.
The two sides discussed several topics of mutual interest, including enhancing strategic partnerships in research and development, exchanging expertise in quality assurance and pharmaceutical product monitoring, reviewing mechanisms to accelerate the availability of new medicines in the Egyptian market, and supporting the company’s export efforts to increase Egyptian pharmaceutical exports.
During the meeting, Dr. Ali El-Ghamrawy emphasized the EDA’s commitment to supporting the national pharmaceutical industry and enhancing its competitive capabilities. He noted that the Authority continuously works to facilitate procedures that contribute to localizing pharmaceutical technology and achieving self-sufficiency. He explained that these efforts align with the Egyptian State’s vision by providing a strong and enabling regulatory environment that empowers companies to develop innovative products that meet local market needs and elevate quality standards across the pharmaceutical sector.
Representatives of NAPCO Pharma expressed their appreciation for the important role the EDA plays in developing the pharmaceutical system, affirming the company’s full commitment to production and quality standards. The delegation also highlighted NAPCO’s ongoing efforts to expand investments in Egypt, introduce advanced pharmaceutical products, and enhance export initiatives by opening new markets for Egyptian products abroad, in continuous collaboration with the EDA and in line with national objectives to increase exports.
The meeting was attended on behalf of NAPCO Pharma by Dr. Hussein Khudair, Chairman of the Health Committee at the Senate and Chairman of the Board of Directors; Dr. Ahmed Hussein Khudair, Vice Chairman; Dr. Zahra Khudair, Head of the Export Sector; and Dr. Samia Gamal Ibrahim, Director of Registration at NAPCO Pharma. From the EDA, the meeting was attended by Dr. Osama Hatem, Associate to the EDA Chairman and Supervisor of the Central Administration of Pharmaceutical Policies and Market Access.
